Thank you Kimba & Joao for your generous donation. Joao was an employee of OOOFC since February 2021 but first and foremost he was a peer. He struggled with mental health challenges and then used everything that he learned throughout his struggles to help the peers at the center. Joao's kind, easygoing and lovable demeanor won the hearts of all the members as well as his co-workers. He meant so much to all of us and when he passed unexpectedly due to pancreatic cancer in August 2022 it broke the hearts of the OOOFC family. Although his memory will always linger on no one will ever take his place. Rather than allowing sorrow to take over due to this great loss, we want to celebrate the life of this AMAZING man, husband, father, son and dear friend. Joao's soul, his energy and his light still remains at the center. In fact, some employees say that they can still feel him there.
This goes out to you Joao Martins, thank you for everything you brought to the center and all you have done to change the lives of so many each day. We love you with all of our hearts!!
