MABPCB STATE OF MD CPRS CERTIFICATION INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
OOOFC's CPRS PROGRAM OFFERS:
At On Our Own of Frederick County we have a CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) Program which allows the participant to get everything that is needed to become certified.
The CPRS certification requirements are:

500 Peer Support Hours - this can be obtained through a volunteer peer support position or a paid peer support position. We offer volunteer peer support hours through our CPRS program.

46 Course CEU's (continuing education units) - these are credits earned after taking the CPRS training courses. Participants are required to obtain CEU's in 4 different categories:

Advocacy - 10 CEU's required

Ethics - 16 CEU's required

Wellness & Recovery - 10 CEU's required

Mentoring & Education - 10 CEU's required

25 Supervision Hours - these must be obtained by working one on one with an RPS (Registered Peer Supervisor). The requirements are to obtain 5 hours focusing in each of the following categories:

Advocacy - 5 hours

Wellness & Recovery - 5 hours

General Peer Support - 5 hours

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS APPLY ONLINE & ONCE APPROVED YOU WILL TAKE A STATE TEST.
